Actor’s Etiquette 101 – Do’s and Don’ts in The Audition Waiting Room
An actor’s behavior while waiting for her turn to audition can have a big impact on her chances of success or failure.
They say that your audition begins the moment you walk into the room. The director, agent, etc., immediately begins to analyze your “essence” before you even introduce yourself. But what many actors fail to realize is that their behavior in the waiting room can, and usually is, taken as an indicator of how professional they are. This goes into the director’s thinking when it comes time to put that callback list together, when the agent is considering you for representation and when a casting director is evaluating your potential for other projects. And it all begins when you walk into their office.
